Our friend, and Efex retailer, Stacey Christensen owner of Faux Studio Designs and the Paint Station in Alabama did this wonderful project last March. When we looked at our post from Monday on Efex as art, we were struck at how much this mirror looks like wonderful art. All accomplished by gluing Efex to a plain board.

Her post that went with the picture says it all. Thank you Stacey!

Trumeau [troo-moh]: noun.
1. a mirror having a painted or carved panel above or below the glass in the same frame. A trumeau mirror is a wall mirror originally manufactured in France in the 18th century. They were originally intended to hang on a wall between windows, providing a decorative element and bringing more light to the room. Most antique trumeau mirrors are highly ornate and often gilded.

2. an upcycled piece of wood enhanced with Efex™ latex appliqués, gilding wax, and painted with Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan. The one pictured here was made in a couple of hours by Stacey here at the shop. That is an antiqued mirror at the bottom; it is shown reflecting the black backdrop.

Couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

Happy Efexing everyone!efe
