Last week the world of French and American design lost an icon with the passing of Myra Hoefer. Her elegant French style, mixed with laid-back California chic became the height of fashion for many who were raised in Northern California.
It was not until reading about Myra, that I realized that I had met her many decades ago, and most importantly what an influence she actually had on my design style today.
For today’s inspiration, start with the words in this photo from Pinterest. “Become unique” is something we can all aspire to and this lovely piece from her A La Reine Collection of furniture is something we could easily create.
For one, this table is simply divine! The pointed legs make such a statement on their own. To recreate this design use Greek Key trim T33 around the edge, and then your favorite Rosette for the corners. R72, R114, or R69 would all be great choices. Add a little color, or keep neutral, gild or foil, it’s easy to make your furniture your own with the right products.
