Old World Makeover
Old World Makeover’s are not always easy. But this one seems to be the easiest one we’ve seen.

This old world makeover started when she found a lavender plant. Just the perfect size, full of the wonderful smell and ambiance that we are all looking for. One small issue though…the pot was bright pink.

Often when you think of lavender you think of the South of France, California, places with sun and breeze and a whole lot of old world patina. Definitely not thinking hot pink here.
At Rehab to Fab, Stephanie takes her tired and worn out treasures and truly makes them fabulous.

Using a bit of paint by Heirloom Traditions and a few other fun products like silver gilding wax from SIFF she turned this pink pot into old world glam. Of course the accent at the top, our Efex T9 trim was the icing on the cake. Don’t you just love this chunky old world finish?

Check out her full tutorial on Hometalk.

Ciao for now

Antique French Plaques are all the rage.
Antique French Plaques have become an obsession of mine.
Many of my friends have figured out that I know instantly if I love something and then immediately go on a mission to find whatever it is. My latest obsession is antique French plaster plaques.
Searching around the web here is what I have found. Now all I have to do is…. figure out which Efex to use to make some that are similar.

FromTone on Tone I found this beauty. Of course, I want his fabulous green secretary too but then again I usually want everything they have.

I found these simple flower medallions on faded worn wood and I guess I am having a green mood now as well. The aged green patina is wonderful.

Are you noticing how these simple works of art fit in any setting with all furniture styles? This wreath and bow is a classic design.

The I saw this plaque for sale at an Antique Store in New England.

Yes, it cam home to become Efex. I just love the cornucopia and the urn. In fact, I think it will become several different style of Efex. Which one to you like.

Symbols of Style On Instagram
Efex are a symbol of style and Instagram is filled with wonderful sexy photos of things we all love. In the case of Efex, it is a great way to highlight what our fans and dealers are creating with our decorative mouldings. This week we found some really awesome projects to inspire you.
From Same as it Never Was this great before and after. It is so easy to make a symbol of style with a couple of Efex and some paint.

From Trois Petite Filles This lovely mirror. Victoria always does such a lovely job with our Efex.

A lovely small chest from Maine Country Home. Our large bead trim T70 connects with corners C7 to transform plain doors into our sexy symbol of style.

From Annie Dechant this lovely cabinet door. That will be a wonderful kitchen! Many of our Efex styles are just perfect for kitchens and just about anything else you can dream up.

Looking forward to seeing more ideas soon.

Swag’s – New and larger than before
Swag’s are one of my favorite lines in the Efex collection but this new one will be special.
This trip to New Zealand is full of surprises. Like this new molding for Efex. Yep, we found two on this trip. How lucky can a girl get?
I am always on the hunt for new designs and this one is very very special because it came from my friend New Zealand artist Margret Wooley.
Margret is the person who introduced me to Efex two years ago. Recently she found this awesome antique swag. Her lovely home her in Auckland is filled with her great art

and great projects using Efex.

The latest swag is full of detail, and will need a little remastering to make it slightly more perfect. What I love about this mold is that it is thicker than many of our other swags. This swag is an old plaster piece from the late 1800’s or early 1900’s.

It is composed of a centered rose followed by flowers and closed rose buds. This swag measures around 12 inches long and three inches tall. It is over and inches thick.

Which one of the two new moldings do you like best?

Frames
Frames, 3 plus 1 great uses for Efex frames.

Frames have many uses. With 4 styles to choose from, they range from simple to elegant, art deco to french. They are for much more than pictures:)

Janet from The Empty Nest used F 28 to take this wonderful but slightly brown chest and make it marvelous by just adding a frame to the center and decoupaging fabric in the center.

At Maine Country Home, we added the simple frame F 24 to this painted sideboard to enhance the doors.

We are looking for a slant top desk, like the one pictured below because our F15 would be a perfect match. Just add paint and Efex.

And the addition of the frame F28 to the mora clock just made it pop.
