Creating Patina with The Southern Institute of Faux Finishing

Creating Patina has never been this easy.

To say that Virginia Weathersby of the Southern Institute of Faux Finishing is creative is like saying that the ocean has a little water in it. Her passion and creativity knows no bounds. Just attend one of her classes, or stop by her shop and you’ll see what we mean! She and her team make art out of furniture.

So when she released this video about how to use Antiquing Powder on an embellished carving to make instant patina we got so inspired! Three new ways to bring out all the gorgeous details of an Efex molding, without needing to wait years and years for a natural patina. Of course, she uses a piece of wooden trim, but the technique would transfer easily to your furniture upcycled with Efex.

So sit back and dream of the next piece you’ll transform with Efex and Antiquing Powder.

What would you use Antiquing Powder on?
